Police name BOP pedestrian crash victim

Police have released the name of pedestrian who died after being struck by a car in a Bay of Plenty town.

Terrence William Petersen died on April 13, the day after he was hit by a car on Fenion Street, Rotorua, on April 12.

Police say the 66-year-old Rotorua man was injured in the crash outside the Mobil petrol station at 6.40pm, and passed away in hospital.

"Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones," says a police spokesperson.

"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."

Anyone with information about the crash, and who hasn't already spoken with police, is urged to contact their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can also be phoned in anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

Non-emergency information can also be called into the police's 105 number.
