A person is in Waikato Hospital in serious condition following an incident at a Tauranga Reserve.

People have contacted SunLive reporting seeing a rescue helicopter at Gordan Spratt Reserve in Papamoa.

A St John spokesperson says they were called to the reserve at 11.32am.

One ambulance and a rescue helicopter attended the incident.

Police say the have no record of the incident and did not attend.
