UPDATE 7.49PM: A vehicle has caught fire after crashing down on bank on Te Puke Highway tonight.
Emergency services were called to a single-car crash on the highway, near its intersection of Welcome Bay Road just after 7pm.
A police spokesperson confirmed to SunLive that a vehicle had gone down a bank and "caught alight".
"All occupants got out of the vehicle and were OK."
Police says the incident was blocking traffic at the roundabout while emergency services cleared the scene.
"As of 7.40pm, the fire was out and the road had been cleared."
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Reports are coming in of a crash on near Papamoa tonight.
A post on the Bay of Plenty Accidents Facebook page says a car has gone over the bank on Te Puke Highway, near Welcome Bay Road.
The post advises people to avoid the area if possible.
