UPDATE 2.40PM: Tara Road is now clear following a four car crash earlier this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Tara Road, between Parton Road and Doncaster Drive around 1.30pm.

A police spokesperson says there were no serious injuries reported.

Tauranga City Council reports the road is now clear.

Police are investigating the cause.

EARLIER:

A four car crash is being reported in Papamoa this afternoon.

A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says the crash is located on Tara Road, between Parton Road and Doncaster Drive.

"Vehicles are blocking the road. Emergency services are on scene.

"Use alternate routes or delay travel."

A police spokesperson says multiple vehicles were involved in a crash at 1.20pm.

"No serious injuries reported."

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
