One person has died following an crash on State Highway 30 near Lake Rotoma on Friday.
The crash occurred just before 11.30am when a car left the road and went down a bank, on SH30, just past Oxford Road, near Lake Rotoma.
The highway, which runs from Rotorua to Whakatane, was closed for some time following the crash and reopened later.
The Police can now confirm that sadly one person died at the scene.
The investigation into the cause the crash is ongoing.
