One person has died following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 2.
Police confirmed the fatality in a statement released this morning.
Police were notified of the crash on SH2, Waitakaruru, at 6.41pm and the person died at the scene, says a police spokesperson.
"The road has reopened this morning following a scene examination.
"Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
"Police extend their sympathies to the family of the deceased."
