A large scrub fire is being reported in Matapihi this morning.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says smoke can be seen coming from the fire when looking across from Dive Crescent.

Another caller says there is a vegetation fire on Hungahungatoroa Road in Matapihi.

"Firefighters are there. It looks quite big."
