UPDATE: Three people are reported to have been injured following a two car crash on Pyes Pa Road.

Emergency services were called to the crash, near Manor Park Drive, at 12pm.

A police spokesperson confirms that two cars were involved.

"The information we have is that two people suffered serious injuries and one person moderate injuries."

Tauranga City Council says the road has been closed while the crash scene is cleared.

Reports are coming in of a two car crash on Pyes Pa Road.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says two vehicles have crashed head-on on Pyes Pa Road, near Manor Park Drive.

"The road is blocked.

"Emergency services are at the scene and people should expect delays."
