Car and caravan involved in SH2 crash

Fire, police and ambulance have all responded to the crash on SH2.

A car and caravan have left the road on State Highway 2 causing some traffic delays in the area.

Police say no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

'One person was reported to have minor injuries,” says a police spokesperson.

Police were alerted to the crash at 2pm, with one vehicle and the caravan going off the road on SH2 near Youngson Road in Whakamarama.

'Police, fire and ambulance attended,” the police confirm.

An eyewitness says the incident happened near Plummer's Point road.

'The car and caravan have left the road into the steep bank area,” says the witness.

Police say the road is not blocked. However, Tauranga City Council is warning of delays in the area.
