Student choir wows Sydney

Tauranga Girls' College number one chorale Luminosa Armonia had huge success when they joined more than 1000 other participants on stage at the Sydney Opera House to compete in the Australian International Music Festival.

After wowing the judges at the annual competition, the girls won gold in the chorale section and were asked to perform in the Sydney Town Hall – a prestigious task given to the most impressive choir.

Principal Pauline Cowens says she is 'so pleased” and the girls could not have done better.

'I am so pleased for the girls and for Stephanie that all the hard work they have put in to developing their talents to such a high level has been recognized by such success.

'They could not have done better.

'All of us at TGC know how special they are, because we have heard them perform as well as being aware how much time and effort has gone in to furthering their passion.

'It is so good that in the Australian music environment they have shone and gained the recognition they so richly deserve.”
