One of the largest single day property auctions in the Bay of Plenty is being hailed a success after 50 properties were offered to home buyers.
The Eves Realty auction room was filled with potential buyers looking for a deal with eight homes being sold under the hammer of auctioneer Grant Child.

Potential buyers expressed interest in purchasing 27 properties and two were sold previous to auction.
A further 19 homes had bids placed on them and conditional interest was expressed on another 16.
Auction organisers says the owners of the remaining properties now have the benefit of market feedback in most cases and can position their properties appropriately to achieve a future sale.

'This campaign has been an outstanding success,” says EVES auctioneer Grant Child.
'Over 70 people attended the First Home Buyers and Investors Seminar held recently and in the auction room there was standing room only for all three sessions held at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.”
Realty services chief executive Ross Stanway is seeing a return of long term investors as well as expressed interest in the younger, professional person's bracket with the idea that property is still a good long term investment.
He says the company has bought more than 80 properties into the market since last month.
