Cabinet will decide today whether Northland and parts of Waikato can come out of level 3 at midnight tomorrow.

Both regions had tougher restrictions imposed in the past week because of positive Covid-19 cases with links to Auckland's Delta outbreak.

Daily cases have dwindled in Waikato and the three reported yesterday were all in isolation as known contacts.

Just two cases have been confirmed in Northland, of women who travelled from Auckland and tested positive for the virus.

Dozens of new cases continue to be reported in Tāmaki Makaurau.
