"On behalf of Te Puke Police I would like to thank the local Maketu community for their role in helping keep COVID-19 out of the community," says Mike.

"We have been conducting reassurance patrols in and around Maketu since the country entered the L4 lockdown and I must say the vast majority of people are doing their bit and more) for the community by sticking to the rules and it's great to see."

He says he has come across a few people who have needed to be reminded about the Alert Level 4 lockdown requirements.

" We have engaged with a very small number of persons who have been out and about that should be at home so have spoken with them and reminded them of the lockdown rules," says Mike.

"Please team, if you are not deemed an essential worker or an essential business stay at home.

"By doing that you not only keep you and your whanau safe but you also keep the community safe .. and that is a win / win.

"In the meantime, if you see us out and about in the community give us a wave and keep safe." says Mike.
