For those wanting a holiday to the Cook Islands, you're going to have to wait until May.
That's the date the two countries are working towards a travel bubble for, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Friday.
The announcement came during Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown's visit to Aotearoa. He is the first international leader to be officially welcomed here since the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
Queenstown mayor Jim Boult says a three-way bubble with the islands and Australia would be an ideal situation. He says the Cook Islands travel bubble would be a "disaster" for local tourism if the trans-Tasman bubble did not open within two months.
