CAT out of the bag

Citizens Advocacy Tauranga (CAT) has become a duly incorporated society, removing any doubt its members are here for the long haul.

The group was formed in 2006 to address ratepayer issues with Tauranga City Council. Its profile was raised significantly during the 2007 local body elections when it organised several candidate meetings.
CAT has been active again this year, following the auditor general's report on Tauranga City Council's ten year plan.
CAT encouraged Tauranga citizens to express their views on rates in Tauranga in a poll on its website www.afford.co.nz
Results are expected at CAT's next public meeting at the Bureta Park Motor Inn on August 14.
