Hypocrisy abounds

Whilst the country is preoccupied with the Covid 19 crisis, Parliament has passed the extreme Abortion Bill, taking away all rights of the unborn child, with little or no media coverage.

This Government sponsored Bill, supported throughout by Jacinda Ardern, allows for sex specific, disability and near full term abortions.

The Select Committee set up last year to review submissions and make recommendations to Parliament, was made up of seven MPs, five of whom were pro-abortion, including the chair and deputy chair, and who all subsequently supported the Bill throughout all stages. In spite of 90 per cent of submissions made last year being against further liberalisation of the law, little time was offered for oral submissions, and all proposed amendments to the Bill were defeated, as was the NZ First proposal to put this to a referendum in September.

Hypocrisy abounds when one examines who supported this Bill. For example, David Clark a Presbyterian Minister and Minister of Health, Tracy Martin the Children's Minister and Aupito William Sio, a former Mormon Bishop and MP for a predominantly Pacific Island electorate.

In total 80 per cent of Labour MPs, 100 per cent of Green MPs and 36 per cent of National MPs supported the Bill, introducing one of the most radical abortion laws anywhere in the world.

At a time when the Prime Minister calls for kindness and caring for each other, she has turned her back and shown utter disregard for the most vulnerable in our society, the unborn child.

Hypocrite in Chief.
