It’s NZ law

B Johnson (The Weekend Sun February 14) does not make sense when he writes that a Government Maori partnership, based on the Treaty of Waitangi, is impossible because Queen Victoria could not have a partnership with her own subjects. Our Government Maori partnership is a partnership with the government not the queen. It is based on New Zealand law passed by our parliament in 1975. Parliament agreed that the Treaty was a partnership so now it is. That is New Zealand law.
