Adding more names

The Tauranga mayor has proposed that we could use Maori street names more often.

I believe that we should leave it to the developers and builders, and that Maori names have already been extensively used for blocks of streets in many towns.

Due to their isolation in the past, Maori would only have needed a small vocabulary hence duplication of rivers and locations is common.

New words and additions have been concocted as necessary. The addition of a Maori name to an existing English one would require bigger and stronger street signs raising costs but sadly our governments renaming public departments with a Maori name with another name in front has made those departments impossible to find in the phone directory, for example: Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
