The $10 million works currently taking place along Domain Road in Papamoa are progressing satisfactorily says Tauranga City Council manager of transportation Martin Parkes.
The project is currently underway on stage one and two of the works with the only major setbacks being wet weather, which delayed things for a short time.
He says stage two is set to be completed by mid-2020, with stage three on hold pending assessments of development opportunities of adjacent rural land.
The main purpose for these works is to make it safer and easier for people to walk, bike and catch the bus along Domain Road.
The works are spanning over the course of three years and will resurfacing the length of the road to better cope with the numbers of vehicles, along with new landscaping.
