From Monday September 23, the Tauranga City Council are permanently closing the exit from Grace Road onto 15th Ave.

A council spokesperson says the right turn entry from 15th Ave into Grace Road is also being closed.

'This will help improve traffic flow down 15th Ave during the afternoon peak hours.

'Residents of this part of Grace Road will be able to access 15th Ave via Burrows Street or Fraser Street.

'No change to the southern section of Grace Road will occur.”

SunLive has contacted the council, and will provide more information when we can.

why don't they just fix the problem instead of meddling with the peripheral issues , which are only caused by the original lack of foresight?

I agree with more meddling. The traffic obviously want to get over to Welcome bay/Hairini/Ohauiti...Why force people to wait in line with the people wanting to go to Greerton/Fraser Cove/Oropi. Makes much more sense to bolster traffic flow through Turret Road and make it a main thoroughfare...But no....They want to close it off instead... Idiots.
