Wasted money

How much money should we allow the BOP Regional Council to lose on running empty busses before they are stopped?

I believe the amount of losses is now more than $100 million.

This staggering amount of wasted money has been shared between the BOP Regional Council and the NZ Transport Agency, up until now.

Now these councillors have loaded the ongoing, $8 million-a-year costs onto us ratepayers. See your Rate Demand!

The election, in October, will give us the chance to get rid of these Failed Councillors so let's throw them all out.

Get With The Program

As somebody reliant on public transport to get around I have a simple message for Ken Waters. Ken, I empathise with your passion about empty buses. So here’s a bit of simple advice for you and those who share your concern. Get with the program, use the bus even occasionally and guess what? It won’t be as empty. Otherwise live with it, as we have to put up with congestion caused by cars with just one person per vehicle. Not to mention how they also hold buses up and put them behind time.

No buses isnot an option

How would disposing of all of our sitting councillors, solve the issue of buses running empty or near empty. The new lot of councillors may want to add additional buses. Who would want to live in the 5th largest city without any public transport? Wouldn’t be a better solution to look at the timetable / scheduling. or as the previous writer said, get with the program use them yourself then it won’t be empty, your Goldcard will give you a free or discounted trip, you may even enjoy the experience.
