Emergency services are responding to the crash of a light aircraft at Tauranga Airport.
The crash was on runway 25 at 7.30am.
The damaged plane being towed back to the hangar.
The pilot is believed to be unharmed.
The accident happened on the threshold of the main runway, but precisely what has occurred is unknown at this stage.
Airport manager Ray Dumble says the runway is still open and scheduled flights are unaffected.
