Highway down to one lane after logging truck crash

UPDATED: 12.56PM: Emergency services are responding to a truck trailer that has been tipped over on the Opotiki side of the Maraenui Hill.

A police spoksperson says they recieved the call at around 11.55am.

"The road is reportedly blocked.

"Initial indications suggest no one is injured."

EARLIER:

People travelling through the Bay of Plenty are being warned of delays on State Highway 35 following a logging truck crash.

NZTA says a fully-laden logging truck has crashed on the highway, near Maraenui Hill.

"The highway is reduced to one lane with stop/go traffic in place between Hawai and Maraenui.

"Traffic may need to be temporarily stopped in both directions at time to allow for vehicle recovery. Expect delays."
