Rogers' ‘rabbiting' last week was absolutely correct. The media are hell-bent on making Kiwis feel guilty of the terrible atrocity in Christchurch, and are fostering the punishment of our citizens.

Our ideologically-driven ‘guvmint' is leaping at the opportunity to show how penitent we are and will prove our remorse to the world.

I have been communicating with a young man who is traumatised by the Christchurch event - not by the actions of the shooter, but by the constant on-going fostering of guilt by the media.

He now believes he is somehow to blame, especially as his father owns a gun. I suspect learning of the arguments that will be tendered by both sides regarding the proposed gun laws will traumatise him further.

Let's not have a knee-jerk reaction and pause to consider the many facets of the decisions.
