Maunganui Road from Pacific Avenue to Prince Avenue will be closed from 1pm this afternoon until 1am tomorrow morning as participants for We Run The Night take over Mount Maunganui.

Prince Avenue, Adams Avenue and Maunganui Road from Grace Avenue to Pacific Avenue will also be closed from 4pm-11pm tonight.

We Run The Night is a running festival where runners and walkers are encouraged to get friends and family together, dress up and get active.

The event is for everyone with male and female age groups up to 60-plus.

The event is starting and finishing in the new urban space Te Papa o Ngā Manu Porotakataka. It is the first event to take place in the new space. The pre event atmosphere will include live music, a Barrett Homes kids' chill out zone, HOPT soda tasting and more.

With a good weather forecast for Saturday, conditions look ideal for the events starting at 5pm.

And it's not too late to enter.

Late entries will be accepted at the event today from 3pm-6.30pm. All late entries will incur a $10 late fee. ​No eftpos is available, so bring cash.
