UPDATED: Police have responded to an emergency plane landing in Welcome Bay, Tauranga.
The incident occurred on Kaitemako South Road shortly after 3pm.
The pilot, the sole occupant of the light replica vintage plane, sustained very minor injuries, says a police spokesperson.
"The CAA has been notified."
EARLIER:
A plane has made an emergency landing in Welcome Bay this afternoon.
A photographer at the scene says the plane has landed somewhere on Kaitemako Road.
