Councils around the Bay of Plenty are reminding residents about rubbish and recycling services dates being changes around the Christmas period.
For those households living in the Whakatane District and the Tauranga City District, whose kerbside collections get collected on a Tuesday, no kerbside collection will be taking place on Christmas Day, Tuesday December 25, and Tuesday January 1.
In a statement on the Tauranga City Council website, it says if your collection day is usually Tuesday, your rubbish will be collected on the Saturday before instead.
Those collection dates will be December 22 and December 29.
'Both our transfer stations will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.”
The transfer stations will be open on Boxing Day and the day after New Year's Day from 8.30am to 5pm.
The same collection dates for the Tauranga City collection are the same as the collection ones for those in the Whakatane District.
Residents living in the Rotorua District waste collection staff won't be emptying bins on Christmas Day with collection days for that week will move forward one day.
In a statement on the Rotorua Council website, it says collections will return to normal the following week.
