New school proposed for Western Bay

Todd Muller has tabled a petition for a new school in the Western Bay of Plenty.

A new secondary school is on the table for the Western Bay of Plenty.

A petition supported by more than 2000 locals shows support for the new secondary school to be built west of the Wairoa River.

“On Monday, the petition was tabled in Parliament requesting the Government to investigate the possibility of a new secondary school for the Western Bay of Plenty,” says National MP Todd Muller.

“When Jo Linthwaite and other supporters came and talked to me in my office, I thought what a fantastic idea.

“The community needs it, particularly the growing community of Omokoroa and I am now putting the pressure on the Government to deliver.

“So we’ve put the petition, it gets tabled in parliament it then goes to the education select committee and next year, there will be opportunity for Jo, myself and others to speak to the importance of that investment for the Western Bay.

“Thank you Jo and thank you Omokoroa, Te Puna and Pahoia, let’s make sure your voice is heard,” says Todd.
