Storage buildings set to tumble this week

As motorists drive past the Dive Crescent storage buildings, they would have noticed that temporary fencing has gone up around the buildings as preparations for demolition begin.

A section of the carpark and the footpath are currently fenced off, with 10 parking spaces in the Dive Crescent off street parking lot currently out of action.

Tauranga City development manager Brigid McDonald says work to demolish the sheds are underway, with the exterior coming down this week.

'Both lanes along Dive Crescent will remain open at this stage

'We expect the work to be complete and the temporary car park being available in December to provide more parking ahead of the busy summer season.”

A specific date for the carpark hasn't been set yet, but Brigid says they will announce the opening of the temporary car park as soon as they can.

Shame to lose that awesome artwork on the building though
