Power is out to properties in Oropi this afternoon following reports of a crash in the area.

According to the Powerco website, 79 properties have been affected by the outage.

It's estimated that power should be back on around 7pm.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says there is a crash on Oropi Road, near Gamman Mill Road.

"There are powerlines down on the ground. Police are at the scene."

A police spokesperson confirmed to SunLive that there are no injuries reported from the crash.

"A car crashed into power pole on Oropi Road at 2:24pm. Everyone is out of the car, no injuries are repored but the power lines are down."

People driving in the area can expect delays until the crash scene is cleared.
