State Highway 30, between Rotorua and Taupo, is closed.

Emergency services are at the scene of a truck versus car crash.

"Due to a crash the road is closed at Horohoro between Apirana Road (north intersection) and Collier Road," says the NZTA.

"Motorists are advised to expect delays or avoid the area if possible."

General traffic can use Apirana Rd in both directions to return to SH30.

This route is not suitable for Heavy Commercial Vehicles, who should use SH5 and avoid SH30 between Taupo and Rotorua. Allow an extra 10-15mins for your journey.
