Update 4.30pm - Emergency services are at the scene of a serious incident on SH2.

A police media spokesperson says the incident has been reported on SH2 Takitimu Drive, Tauranga.

"The crash happened around 3.40pm and one person, a pedestrian, is in a serious condition.

"Motorists should expect delays and are asked to avoid the area and follow diversions which will be put in place."

Reports are coming in of an incident on Takitimu Drive, heading Southbound after Elizabeth St roundabout.

Police are currently at the scene. Traffic is at a standstill.
