Crashes reported on Tauranga Eastern Link

Two crashes are being reported on the Tauranga Eastern Link this morning.

A SunLive reader who passed both crash scenes, says one vehicle has hit the barrier near the toll booth and another has hit the cables just 5km from the first crash.

"There doesn't appear to be anyone injured. Both crashes are blocking the northbound lane for people heading towards Papamoa."

Police have been called to the scene.

Motorists are advised to expect delays as police work to clear the crash scenes.

SunLive has contacted police for more information and will update this story as soon as we have more.

More Patrols Needed

Not surprised at all. With most people exceeding the 110kmph limit it's time more patrols were on this section of "race track" Why don't the Police start before 7am to catch these speedsters? Even vehicles towing trailers exceed their 90kmph limit.
