In the lead up to Christmas, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she is "quite excited" about Parliament's final vote in the Child Poverty legislation.
It will be the first piece of law she passes as prime minister.
"I feel very proud of that and very proud actually that, bar one vote, all of Parliament will be joining us to pass that legislation.
"That feels to me a nice way to round up the year," she said.
For the upcoming holidays, Ardern said she will have a "very low-key" Christmas spending time with family in Morrinsville and Gisbourne.
Ardern said for her daughter Neve's first Christmas, "she unfortunately will be exposed to novelty wear".
