Go figure Greerton roading changes

Congratulations to the Tauranga City Council for becoming the most insane council in New Zealand. Why? The narrowing of the roundabouts and roads to one lane in Greerton Village.

The reason for one-lane roundabouts is to make it safer for bicycles to navigate (this is not taking into account that the road is major thoroughfare into Tauranga City).

They have narrowed the road to only take one vehicle at a time. There is no room for a bicycle and a vehicle (car) let alone a truck to be together on the roundabouts. We now have the biggest traffic jams on a major road in Tauranga.

The new island at Pooles Rd is ridiculous. This appears to have been put in take the overflow from Cornwall St being blocked off from turning into Cameron Rd as there is now a half round in place. If you turn right you block all traffic along Cameron Rd (a major entryway to Tauranga from the west). If you have an emergency in the west of Tauranga do not expect help to arrive quickly as there is no way any vehicle can get through the Greerton Village roundabouts in an emergency. They wait their turn as everybody else does. Go figure.
