Update 6pm - No one has been injured following a crash near Bayfair.

A police media spokesperson says the crash happened just before 5pm.

"Police attended the crash at 4.49pm. A van flipped on its side and the road was blocked for a short time.

"No one is injured."

Reports are coming in about a multiple car crash near Bayfair roundabout.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the crash has happened on Maunganui Road near Bayfair.

"A van has been tipped on its side and there are about four to five cars involved.

"This has happened in the northbound lane heading from Bayfair towards Hewletts Road.

"Traffic in the area is beginning to build up."
