UPDATE 4.57: A car and a truck have collided on SH2, between Taniwha Place and Wairoa Road in Te Puna.

Police recieved reports of the nose-to-tail crash at around 4.37pm.

"No one is trapped, there is blockage and traffic is going around the crash," says a police spokesperson.

This is the second crash in the area this week where one person recieved moderate injuries in a three car crash.

EARLIER: Reports are coming in about a two car crash near Te Puna.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says it's happened on the intersection of State Highway 2 and Wairoa Road.
