Tauranga will have more space for public parking following recent development work.

A project, led by CBC Construction, has seen an extension to the existing ANZ Building, situated between Elizabeth Street and First Ave and owned by Troop Investments.

'The carpark is an extension to the back of what was already there,” says CBC Director, Drew Beekie. 'It is five levels and includes 265 carparks.”

'The top level consisting of 60 carparks will be open for the general public to use while the other levels will be for private use servicing the nearby businesses.”

The job started in November 2016 and has just wrapped up this month. It was designed by Wingates Architects, engineered by Beca and constructed by CBC Construction.

Yesterday its completion was celebrated with a barbecue event.
