More than 400 students, which is half of the student body at Tahatai Coast School, are set to attend the school's first ever Halloween fundraiser.
With decorations flown in from the U.S, Halloween-themed games, a spooky tunnel, face painting and a massive disco, it will be the Papamoa School's largest event to date this year.
Carrie Brown Davies, along with Angela Callahan have set the whole thing up, alongside the school's PTA. The two mothers have single-handedly managed every detail.
'The school has never done anything for Halloween and Halloween is starting to grow a lot in New Zealand,” says Carrie.
'I moved here 11 years ago from California and Angela's husband is from the United States, so we have seen Halloween over there and we know how it's done and it is really fun for the kids.”
'It's not a dark and scary thing, it's just fun. So we wanted to recreate that but within the safe confines of the school.”
The kids have the opportunity to dress up and play games. There will be a lolly scramble and everything Halloween orientated.

You'll find ghosts and witches hanging out with unicorns and superheroes and even a knight in shining armour.
Parents are getting in on the fun as well, with costumes such as the Queen of Hearts and Minnie Mouse.
'We wanted to have a huge party to foster a sense of community and fun within the school while raising money at the same time, and the response has blown us out of the water,” says Carrie.
'It's a great way to provide an enjoyable and fun Halloween within the safe confines of the school,” says Angela.
The money raised from the after-school event will go towards resources for the school.
'The funds are going to go towards our scooter track. We have finished our track but there is still more that needs to be finished,” says Carrie.
'It is also going towards the beautification of the school. We are really trying to work on getting community gardens in our school and other things to really help with that.”
