It is awful for the Tauranga community having to wait for a safer road north of Tauranga. I have travelled that road many times and it is a real danger spot. Too much traffic in a hurry at peak times and everyone wants to get to their destination fast.

A raised grass roundabout and stop signs for all traffic is needed at the Omokoroa turn-off so cars coming down the hill can slow down. Flashing lights (like school warning lights) are needed in advance for traffic.

People are used to speeding on that road and not slowing down or giving way.

Roundabouts at every intersection would also make traffic slower until a better road is made.

Lives are more important than money in this instance and I only go on that road now when absolutely necessary.
