Election Focus: the main issue

Distractions of tea time private conversations and billboard vandalism have threatened to derail focus on general election issues, but as the nation heads to the polls on Saturday, the electorate appears focused on what matters.

SunLive took a camera into central Tauranga on Thursday to find out what people there thought was the main issue for them at this election and their response was informed.

The majority viewed an aspect of the economy as the main issue, but other issues of note to arise were arguments of the foreshore and seabed and in education.

Smaller government + Less interference in peoples lives by Nanny = a return of peoples rights and responsibilities + Less government theft = Burn the RMA + End victimless crime + harsher penalties for crimes with a victim + Incaserated criminals to pay for their own upkeep + end the states monopoly on the education of our children + education policies to teach the nation the real meaning of the words "Rights" and "Responsibilities." + end the culture of dependance.
