Mass disruption considered

The man who organised over 1100 motorcyclists to protest in Tauranga against the proposed ACC levy increase says ‘mass disruption' in the Bay of Plenty is being considered by some motorcyclists.

Max Neal's comments follow the announcement by motorcyclists in Auckland to organise a shutdown of a major mall in West Auckland.
The vice president of the Tauranga branch of the Ulysses Club organised the motorcycle protest in Tauranga on November 7.
He says many Bay of Plenty motorcyclists are angry the government is not backing down on its plan to raise ACC levies for motorcycle owners.
'There is talk about mass disruption of events. That could be an event or a place. There are those that feel that strongly about it,” says Max.
A recent SunLive poll asked readers if the proposed increased were fair and 65 per cent thought it was unfair and 35 per cent believed it was fair.
Max is not surprised by the response and says it is totally unfair.
'It's an enormous hit on a very segmented group,” says Max.

Disadvantage retailers and innocent shoppers to further this cause. Sure it will bring outrage to the reason of the action BUT it will also damage the reputation of the bikers and the clubs involved. You have to ask is it the young children or the retailers or the pensioners that are causing this upset? If the answer is no then leave them be and target the real decision makers. I abhor the bully tactics and threats made by any group under pressure to "hurt innocent people" in the pocket or otherwise. I agree that you have a legitimate beef and agree that actions may help but NOT at the expense of hurting someones livelyhood or shopping experience. The best of luck to all the bikies. Peter
