The terraces on Hopukiore Mount Drury will be closed for a while to allow the grass to regrow, says a Tauranga City Council statement.
The terraces will be closed from Wednesday May 30 for repair work – and to allow the grass to regrow.
The platforms are damaged from a combination of wear and tear from normal public use and wet weather.
'The terraces will remain closed for around six weeks to allow for the grass to regenerate once work is complete.
'As grass growth is dependent on weather, this timeframe may change,” says a city council spokesperson.
