What’s on Today? Armageddon & Annie

A cosplayer brings Marvel’s beloved Star-Lord to life.

Good morning sunners, it looks like it's going to be another cool day in the Tauranga with southerly winds turning westerly in the afternoon.

If you're looking for something to do today, there's plenty to going on.

At 1pm and 7pm at the Addison Theatre at Baycourt, Otumoetai College's production of Annie will be taking place.

SunLive reporter Ryan Wood reviewed the play earlier this week, saying: 'Set in New York during the Great Depression, and begins in the orphanage where our titular heroine resides.

Thus, the world we are introduced to is much dirtier and more muted, and one in which Annie stands out with her bright red hair and optimistic attitude. It's only later on, when Annie gets to spend Christmas with the brash billionaire Oliver Warbucks, that we are shown a glimpse of a moneyed world far brighter and more extravagant.”

But the main event taking place this weekend, has to be the much anticipated Armegeddon.

All kinds of people, aliens and cosplay characters alike will be lining up at ASB Arena to catch a glimpse of their favourite characters or to reveal in the shared passion of all things entertainment.

Both today and tomorrow will give people the chance to meet TV and Movie stars from WWE, Supergirl, Merlin, Lucifer, Game of Thrones, Arrow, Star Trek Voyager, Smallville, Batman Beyond, Kim Possible, Death Note and more!

Heaps of exhibitors from all over NZ with collectibles, anime, toys, games and geek glory! Hewlett Packards gaming arena will entertain and amaze, free Lasertag, Airsoft shooting range,Live Wrestling, Trading Card Tournaments, Anime screenings, celebrity panels, cosplay costume events and more.
