Last chance to vote on Maori Wards

Western Bay of Plenty residents wanting to cast their vote on Maori Wards are being reminded time is running out.

Western Bay of Plenty District Council service centres will be open this Saturday from 9am to noon to receive any votes regarding the Maori Ward poll.

Voting documents were sent to all electors on the District's electoral roll in April and electors have until noon, Saturday 19 May to return these.

Electors have been comprised from both the general and Maori parliamentary rolls.

Completed documents can be hand delivered to a ballot box at one of Council's service centres:

  • Barkes Corner - 1484 Cameron Road, Greerton, Tauranga
  • Waihi Beach - Waihi Beach Community Centre, Waihi Beach Road, Waihi Beach
  • Katikati - 36 Main Road, Katikati
  • Te Puke – 130 Jellicoe Street, Te Puke
  • Omokoroa - McDonnell Street, Omokoroa.

Progress results are expected around mid-afternoon on Saturday. For more information regarding the poll visit the council website.

The formal result will be publicly notified by May 23, 2018.

Yeah, I have had 4 votes already, wish I had more, no chance of missing this one. We all have to be on guard against racism, aparthied, separatism.
