Two Tauranga organisations are giving residents the chance to give back to the most important matriarch of all this Mother's Day.

Mother Nature will enjoy a full pampering following a joint initiative by Envirohub and Geoff Canham Consulting.

Envirohub general manager Laura Wragg says a planting extravaganza is on the cards.

'We all love our mothers and we love trees, so we are teaming up these two loves and bringing to you our Treemendous Tree Plant.

'A total of 6,000 native trees, will be planted in six hours to celebrate Mother's Day and Mother Nature this autumn.”

Laura says the event is a good way to do something different.

'We appreciate that whilst you love your mother, and love trees, this love may not necessarily extend to planting trees.

'Both of the teams behind this event are all about positive outcomes, innovative solutions and ensuring everyone is happy, green and able to sleep well at night.

'So you can either buy a tree to plant for yourself, or we can plant the tree for you. It really couldn't be simpler.”
