Bay of Plenty Film will be hosting international location scouts as part of regional film forum ‘Te Ata', being held at Otamarakau Marae next month.

On Tuesday May 1, three internationally-recognised location scouts from America will be arriving in the Bay of Plenty for a four-day tour, visiting the best locations the Bay offers around Rotorua, Taupo, Tauranga and Whakatane.

Their itinerary wraps up at regional film forum ‘Te Ata' on Saturday May 5, where they will join other renowned guests presenting to the Bays screen media industry.

'The award winning scouts have worked on significant Hollywood productions all over the world and have been invited here by Bay Of Plenty Film, who are proactively raising the profile of the Bay and the assets we offer the industry,” says BOP Film CEO Anton Steel.

Their itinerary includes visits to White Island, Mt Tarawera, the Redwoods Tree Walk, Aratiatia Rapids, the Chateau and Mt Ruapehu, McLarens Falls, the Mount, Maketu and Kawerau Mercury Energy Powerstation.

Anton says there will be plenty of time for networking and dream casting at the film forum, as well as celebrating the Bay's achievements onscreen in the evening with a screening of locally produced short films, which is open to the public.

Reservations can be made by emailing kristy@bopfilm.nz
