The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter has been involved in two urgent transfers from Whakatane Hospital this week.
On Monday at 9am the helicopter was dispatched to Whakatane Hospital to transfer an 11-year-old boy who was suffering a serious medical condition.
He was flown to Auckland Hospital for specialist treatment.
Then on Tuesday at 3 pm, the rescue helicopter was dispatched to Whakatane Hospital once again, this time for a 20-year-old male who was suffering post liver transplant complications.
He was also flown to Auckland Hospital for treatment.
