What's on - Guinea pigs and art shows

File photo.

Good morning SunLive readers and welcome to Saturday, the start of what I hope will be another fantastic weekend for you.

While the temperature is slowing cooling down out there, you can still look forward to a cracker of a day.

Today's forecast is expected to be fine apart from isolated evening showers and southwesterly breezes. There's a high of 23°c and overnight it's dropping to 13°c.

So still warm enough to get out and about and enjoy some fantastic activities.

Like the Guinea Pig Show which is on at Omokoroa Hall - a great event to take the kids along to. Public viewing is from 10am-3pm. and its a gold coin entry.

Register your pet guinea pig before 12pm for $5 in fun classes. There's also a fancy Dress theme of 'Autumn”

If that doesn't tickle your fancy than why not head along to the Mount Art Group's annual exhibition.

Due to extensive renovations, the show won't be held at the usual venue of the Mount Surf Club - but instead at The People's Gallery at the Historic Village.

Head along and celebrate the event's 14th year with more than 100 artworks from most members, which will include, acrylic, pastel, pencil, and mixed media.

It will be ‘Cash ‘n Carry' event so make sure to carry cash with you.

Failing either of these options, there's still a number of events happening around the city, find something you like below:
