Good morning, SunLive readers, and welcome to the last possible Sunday of summer.
Yes, technically it's autumn. But I always think the end of daylight savings marks the absolute end of summer, and next Sunday we'll be doing just that and winding our clocks back.
So make the most of today and get out and about. The forecast this morning is for showers with possible thunderstorms, but we all know how temperamental the weather can be lately.
If it stays fine you might want to take the kids down to the annual Blue Light Kids Gone Fishin' event at Tauranga Bridge Marina.
The free day out is hosted by Blue Light Ventures Tauranga and includes free bait, a sausage sizzle and spot prizes.
About 500 children attended last year's event and Tanya Grimstone, from the Te Aranui Youth Trust, says it's a great opportunity to have fun and spend quality time with whanau.
It also provides a chance to interact with local police and follows on from the successful Tauranga Police Station open day held earlier this month.
Participants are invited to bring their own rod, however there will be a limited number of free hand lines available. The event starts at 11am, with prize-giving from 2.15pm.
For music-lovers, there's also the Steinway Open Day at Baycourt's Addison Theatre from 10am.
Bookings to play the Steinway had to be made in advance, but audiences are welcome to turn up and enjoy the sounds of this instrument in the hands of local pianists.
